Below Samuel Wilson's name is written "Burnbrae, " which indicates this Samuel Wilson was probably the Galloway poet and historian (1784-1863). He attended Glascow University for one session at least; perhaps this is a work from that period. For a time he was a wood merchant and may well have been involved in shipping.
